David Hunter
Co-Founder and CIO

David co-founded Renewity after 12 years as a placement agent with Haven Green and First Avenue. He began his career with 10 years as an investment consultant at Mercer, where he qualified as an actuary. A five-year founders stint in internet services followed. On returning to investment advisory, David became global head of manager research at Aon Consulting, before a period advising S&P on institutional manager research and sponsor covenant services.

Wendy Mayall
Co-Founder and Chair

Wendy is a co-founder of Renewity and Chair of Renewity's Investment Committee. She has over forty years of asset management experience, including as Chief Investment Officer for Unilever’s UK pension fund from 1996 to 2011 and Group Chief Investment Officer at Liverpool Victoria from 2012 to 2015. Wendy had held a number of Non-Executive positions. She is currently an Independent Non-Executive Director of Phoenix Group Holdings, a Non-Executive Director of Handelsbanken ACD and a Non-Executive Member of the Oversight Council of Quilter Investors.

Stephen Breban
Head of Research

Stephan has more than 30 years’ experience of researching and advising pension plans on private equity investment and GP/fund of funds and manager selection. He founded City Capital Partners in 2005, which advised on private equity allocations of over $3 billion. Previously, Stephan was a partner at Watson Wyatt (now Willis Towers Watson), where he built the alternatives research and headed the private equity research team.

Rufus Warner
Director

Rufus has over 40 years in the financial services industry, working as an equities analyst, corporate financier, asset manager and business developer. He has worked in senior roles at Morgan Grenfell Asset Management, Societe Generale Asset Management, Close Brothers, Mobius Life and Federated Hermes. Rufus was co-founder of Earth Capital Partners and chaired its Investment Committee for as number of years. He has expertise in corporate governance and finance, business and marketing strategy, private equity and renewables.

Ravi Nevile
O-COO

Ravi launched and is CEO of the international business of GP Fund Solutions, following an impressive career leading administration, operations and platforms for some of the world’s biggest investors. Prior to setting out Renewity’s operations and platform functions, he led Aztec Group’s real assets business responsible for renewables, infrastructure and real estate structures. Before that, Ravi was Global Portfolio Director for the private markets business at TMF Group working closely with its shareholder CVC on strategy, M&A, product and business development.

Martin Ling
CFO

Martin is a chartered accountant with over 20 years of financial analysis, structuring and operational experience. He was the co-founder of specialist debt investment management firm BMS Finance in 2008. Prior to that, Martin spent his formative years working for earlier stage, entrepreneurial businesses in the financial and business services sectors. Martin also acts as an advisor and investor for several privately owned businesses.

Lucy Nicholls
Investment Consultant

Lucy has over twenty years of asset management experience. She was, until July 2021, a Partner at Stafford Capital Partners, a specialist private markets investment firm. Before that, Lucy worked with the Green Investment Bank (UK Green Investments, established by the UK Government in 2011) to implement its renewables-focused fund investment programme. Prior to that she was a Partner at Graphite Capital and at Adams Street Partners. For the seven years prior to that she worked within the European investment team at Pantheon.

Kalyani Inampudi
ESG Adviser

Kalyani’s background fuses asset management and data analysis. Her experience also includes deep data research and writing investment proposals. She has certifications from UNPRI, the Climate Disclosure Standards Board via the TCFD Knowledge Hub and the Associate Chartered Securities Investments (ACSI) for wealth and investment management. During her MBA studies at Imperial College, London, Kalyani focused on ESG and sustainability investing, paying particular attention to clean technology and renewable energy issues for her thesis. She currently advises fund managers and investors on ESG and sustainability.

Suzanne Kidd
Project Manager

Suzanne is an experienced Executive Assistant and Office Manager with HR, database and CRM experience. She started her career as a Personal Assistant in a Corporate Finance team at Durlacher, during the dot.com boom and then moved to Eden Group and Hedge Fund MBAM LLP as an Executive Assistant working closely with the senior management team.

David Smith

David previously served as the Chief Investment Officer of Alternative Investments Solutions at GAM. David also worked as Head of Investment Research and Management at Buck Consultants and he worked for the investment consultancy division of Mercer Investment Consulting. David has extensive experience of managing both institutional investment products and large teams of professionals in this space.

John has served as a director of the equities businesses of Barclays de Zoete Wedd, Dresdner Kleinwort Benson and ABN AMRO. He has a strong track record in institutional research and fund management and has experience in setting up regulated fund management entities including the technology, regulatory, financial and operational aspects of the business.

Bev Durston

Bev is an award winning and highly respected investment professional with over 30 years of global financial services experience.  Having managed institutional monies for over 20 years she founded a boutique institutional alternatives business, Edgehaven, in 2013.   Edgehaven is a specialist, bespoke Alternatives partner providing hand-picked fund recommendations across the Alternative asset landscape for a small number of clients.  Bev has sourced, structured and implemented over $3.5bn of Alternative assets over the last decade with an excellent, risk adjusted track record. In recent years Edgehaven has given attention to high quality positive environmental investments in renewables and has also developed a new emphasis on ESG factors for manager selection.

TJ ‘Toby’ Raymond (Co-optee)

Toby has 30 years’ experience in all aspects of the capital markets. In his role as Partner at Access Equity Management Ltd, Toby has formal regulatory oversight for the Haven Green operations, currently including Renewity, and inputs specifically on international or direct equity mandates, Toby provides further formal challenge and risk assessment alongside the operational team and Chair of the Advisory Board.

Michael Brennan
Energex Partners, Special Projects

Michael has worked in the energy industry for over 30 years, the first 23 years of which were at Morgan Stanley’s Commodities Trading Division where he was head of the Global Oil. Michael is currently the managing partner of Energex Partners, an advisory practice he co-founded in 2016. Michael serves as a non-executive director of Maersk Tankers, AP Moller Holdings company and Navigator Terminals Ltd, the UK’s largest bulk storage provider. He has previously served on the boards of numerous private energy businesses.

Mark Barry
Senior Adviser

Mark is a proven business leader with a passion for sustainable investing and the digitisation of asset management. He began his career with six years at Willis Towers Watson as an investment consultant followed by 2 years at Dresdner RCM. He then joined Russell Investments, where he grew the EMEA institutional business substantially. There, Mark led the development of bespoke solutions for larger clients, including for Russell’s first fiduciary management client, and became a Managing Director, responsible for over £20bn of AUM. After leaving Russell in 2015 Mark launched Robeco’s UK office. More recently Mark has been involved in growth-stage financial technology businesses, developing and delivering innovative automation software for implementing complex asset portfolios.

Bob Collie
Senior Adviser

Bob has led consulting practices and research teams in the US and the UK at the world’s leading investment consulting firms. His experience working with institutional investors on ESG matters goes back more than 20 years. Bob’s career began as a trainee actuary at Mercer. After qualifying as an actuary, he moved to Mercer’s investment consulting practice and subsequently joined the Frank Russell Company, with whom he spent 23 years in London, Tacoma, and Seattle. Bob’s role at Russell evolved from asset allocation specialist to general investment consultant to business leader to strategic research guru In 2018, he became head of research for Willis Towers Watson’s Thinking Ahead Institute. Today, Bob advises investment organizations on best practice in ESG and sustainable investing. He is also a highly regarded writer and speaker, with notable contributions in ESG, liability-driven investing and defined contribution design.

Jeremy Browne
Special Adviser

Jeremy was a UK Government Minister of State in the Foreign Office and Home Office, during a decade as an MP. In this former role he was responsible for British interests in major economies including China, Japan, India, Australia and Brazil. Upon leaving Parliament in 2014, Jeremy spent three years as the City of London’s Special Representative to the EU in the aftermath of the Brexit referendum, before becoming the International Business Ambassador of Aberdeen Standard Investments.
